James Gardner

Mr. Gardner is a 22-year veteran of the US Armed Forces. He has over 20 years of design engineering experience and has been a valued HOSS team member for more than 15 years. Mr. Gardner is the Vice President of Engineering and Technology and we are proud to have him on the HOSS Pump Systems Management Team. He holds a patent in the oil and gas and another in the agricultural industry.

Mr. Gardner is a noted expert in the world of pumps the man known for his patented redesign of the horizontal pump system which revolutionized the oil industry, enabling oilfield producers/operators to produce more than previously imagined possible. At some point or another, he’s undoubtedly analyzed every one of our competitors’ equipment and designed our patented HOSS Pump Systems to be superior. Mr. Gardner’s redesign means HOSS Pumps have fewer parts, have the lowest vibration in the industry, run more efficiently requiring 88.24% less horsepower and can carry three times the load of any competitor’s pump. HOSS Pumps are also easier to repair than other systems averaging 79% less downtime, only 1 hour and 15 minutes to remove or change a thrust chamber or seal compared to other systems with average downtime between 6 to 8 hours. One HOSS Pump System has been fully operational in the field for more than 14 years. It’s safe to say that Mr. Gardner designs HOSS Pump Systems to last.

Prior to HOSS, Mr. Gardner worked for a time doing third-party failure analysis and it was there that he designed the HOSS System. Before this time, he had worked for seven years at Baker Hughes Centrilift as an artificial lift product designer. Mr. Gardner was a member of the United States Army and retired after a 22-year decorated career as a First Sergeant. During military service, he worked for the Department of Army Research, performing most of the engineering training and testing weapons systems. Mr. Gardner’s duties have always required him to test equipment and find out what didn’t work. That principle would become a pattern in his career.
